Here I sit, in the Bronx, taking a break from working on turning a coat closet into a recording space. Happy Cat Ranch Productions lives in New York now.
But you don’t just leave a place you lived for literally twenty years without taking any feelings at all with you. There are people, places, memories, two decades of my life. Some of those memories, I don’t enjoy, because of the downward spiral of my marriage and the truly painful divorce I’m going through. Other memories warm my heart and bring joy.
Now there are new memories. Seeing neighborhoods I know overrun by literal jackbooted thugs. Watching brave people chase a hateful Nazi out of town. Seeing a lovely young mother murdered.
I was there when George Floyd was murdered. I remember that, too.
MamaCat sees you, Minnesota. Keep up the good work. You didn’t choose to be Fort Sumter. But here we are. I love you.🫂💜
