“Granny Doesn’t Have a Book Club”

This page is where I share what book (s) I’m reading, or listening to. Your mileage may vary. Offer void where prohibited.

It’s just my way.

Go out, take a book. Be prepared for long waits and poor internet. Take a book.

Starting “The Late Night Witches” by Auralee Wallace over street tacos & sangria, somewhere on the Upper East after a doctor’s appointment. Such occasions must be followed by treats and a book.

One of my favorite things about New York City is the freedom to read on the subway, rather than drive places. It’s heaven. To hold a real book, turn paper pages, and soon you’re magically at your stop.

And I’m a big fan of audiobook listening, if it’s a human narrator. No A.I. slop please.

So we’ll start talking about books. I’ll just share what I’ve been up to, and if you want to share too, you can reach me here: grannyhasapodcast@gmail.com

No posts yet; just hello and what are you reading? 🤓

Granny says start here.

I was wandering around Dana Point, California, in May, on foot. I had come to clear my head. I had enough flight credits for the trip, barely any money, and so I spent five days in the OC without a car.

Hurry. They’re tearing it down this winter to make room for luxury condos.

So I found a thrift store, where I found used books for a dollar! Huzzah! I have seen the movie, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” several times. So I grabbed this remaindered old copy and dove in.

The storytelling is that heady shade of Southern, and so evocative you can smell dust and sweet tea. But the substance of the story is so compelling, still so very timely in its way, I urge you to take the plunge.

This is my pal Sheila, a juvenile black crowned night heron.
We had coffee together every morning.

I also urge you to visit beautiful Doheny Beach. ✌️💖😎
