MamaCat and the Hattitude of Gratitude

Or, how I learned to keep complaining and love the process 🤣🎩😉
That sounds like a helluva boring formula motivational speech, doesn’t it? “How I Learned to Keep Complaining and Love the Process,” the next TedX YouTube you’ll back out of in a great big hurry! But don’t worry. I wouldn’t do that to you.
Today’s soup contains: slain dragons, consumer relations, self-advocacy, and the great Sly Stone. Oh, and tomatoes. Of course tomatoes. May also contain: snark, sarcasm, sound effects, opinion, excellent music choices. Processed in a facility that also contains a Beagle and a polydactyl cat. Professional driver on closed course. Do not attempt at home. Yes I’ll pick up milk on the way home.

Put on the Hat! #HattitudeOfGratitude🎩 -
They All Laughed
When I said that a podcast might be what I’d like to do.
They all laughed, but now we’re starting season 2!

Listen to your Granny. She knows stuff about stuff.

A Tail of Two Kitties.
Raise a glass to the kitty I left behind me, General Domino LadyCat of the Galactic Alliance. And raise a glass to lovely Wheelie, the kitty who welcomed me and Amy Farah Howler into her home.
Happy Cat Ranch Productions endorses this tail of two kitties. 😻🍾💯💖🎄

Granny Has A YouTube!
And since arriving back in the Greatest City in the World, I have a new playlist, “The Scary New York Streets of New York” — which is, of course, very intense mockumentary most of the time.
This time, come with us on a little walk in the park. No snark this time, possibly even something educational; but mainly there’s a dog, so little else matters.

Amy and I would love it if you would like, subscribe, and share. I’m just a gracefully aging content creator, standing in front of an ugly divorce, wondering if I’ll ever have a 1099 again. 😉
So if you can help support, go to:

And thank you so much. 💖

Right outta the oven.
Hey there, cats and kittens and all who otherwise identify! This one’s on the house. Just a cute little something for your Friday. I would love it if you would do the Like/Subscribe/Share thingy! Help me tell the world that I’m ready to craft their little video presentations to be just as cool, or fun, or corporate serious, as they like.
As always, may thanks for all your support. “Granny Has A Podcast” goes back into the studio in July and “Granny Has A YouTube” is getting plenty of love this summer too. All because you guys keep me afloat while I dismantle a wrecked ship and build a sleek schooner from the harvested parts.

MamaCat’s Never-Ending Festival of Spring Cleaning!!!

At Long Last, She Produces a New One.
Clean Out Your Mailbox! Clean out your Mind? Clean out your Closets.
Absolutely, positively, not about household cleaning tips. That’s some other podcast.
“The Webby Awards took place last night. We’d already covered the podcast winners; the ceremony’s famous five-word speeches included one from Lemonada Media’s Julia Louis-Dreyfus, winning podcast of the year for Wiser Than Me: “Listen to old women, motherfudgers”. (Some words may have been changed to ensure delivery of this email.) You can watch highlights at The Webby Awards website.”
You tell ‘em, Elaine Baby.
I promised you last time that we’d talk about junk mail, and we do. And as this evening marks the end of National Mental Health Week in the U.S. (where we could use some), we talk about that too. Also, physical junk gets cleaned out too. Includes research, opinion, and as always, there’s Time Travel.
Today’s Soup contains: Heavy duty personal stuff sandwiched between slices of hot fresh snark and sarcasm. Tender moments of inner vulnerability mixed with humor and reflection. Consumer reports sprinkled with obscure 60s & 70s pop culture references.
I promise, this podcast doesn’t sound like the other Grannies’ podcasts, because I’m not like the other grannies. But I hang out with them. And they want you to do like Julia says, and “Listen to old women.” Motherfudgers.

It’s ALL Soup, Cats ‘n’ Kittens. (and all who otherwise identify) -
New Episode Tomorrow!
Because How Else Could We Possibly Close Out Mental Health Week?
Hey there, cats and kittens and all who other wise identify! I’ve been hard at work on both my life, and your podcast. Should be taking it out of the oven Friday afternoon in time for tea. Your time zone may vary. Professional MamaCat on closed course; do not attempt at home.

A MamaCat Golden Oldie Blast from the Past!!

A Love Letter from Last Year for This Year
Hey there, Cats and Kittens and all who otherwise identify,
Happy Day, you Mothers!
Nope, I didn’t shut down, I didn’t go away, everything’s Bonzer, and I really am working on something new for you. “Granny Has A Podcast” is still a thing. BUT, today’s a day, isn’t it?

Say it loud. I’m a Dog Mom and proud. Here’s to the square pegs. Here’s to those of us who just survive this day with sardonic humor and no regrets. Here’s to the people with uncomfortable feelings around what happens to our social media feeds every year on this day. Here’s to waking up to a heart-filling, loving Happy Mother’s Day message, not from any of my stepchildren… but from one of the gorgeous loving souls I hadn’t even met yet last year.
So, come into the safety of my loving arms. I accept you as you are. Allow me to re-up this Golden Oldie Blast from the Past (a whole year ago), “Granny Has A Podcast, Season 1, episode 10, ‘MamaCat Says Happy Day, You Mothers!” Here’s to having a few laughs and looking at some of the great TV Moms.
New episode will occur. Promise. But this one here oughta give ya some grins in the meantime.
Peace and Love,
MamaCat

“MamaCat and the Chain of Foolishness”

This just in from the Minneapolis Bureau …
Howdy there, cats and kittens and all who otherwise identify… been good? All good here.
We turned out to have a lot of consumer advice on the Happy Cat-genda this time, as well as the need to praise my Union President in song, and two short tales from the Gendered Ageism files. I have also discovered a need for more and better microphones, because I apparently like singing with myself. Hope you like what I threw into today’s soup. There’s plenty, so take seconds.

MamaCat’s Rockin’ New Years Eve Epiphany Vacation super party!

Happy New Year, cats and kittens and all who otherwise identify! Welcome to my rockin’ New Years Epiphany Vacation Eve super party! (I keep changing the order of the words on that phrase because language is fun and words have meanings.)
Today’s soup includes comfort and joy, the holly and the ivy, and the usual sleaze. OK, it’s mainly, “What I did on my Christmas Vacation,” starring MamaCat and HusbandCat as the Griswolds, finally getting it right. But then… we always did want to see the Griswolds finally get it right. #HolidayRoad

MamaCat and her Ramones. Honestly! Bitchen killah new headshots by Dani Werner Photography. When in Minneapolis-St. Paul, she’s your go-to. https://www.daniphoto.com/ And if you’re liking this stuff… you know I’m always in the mood for a coffee… https://www.buymeacoffee.com/grannyhasaa

“MamaCat and the Hattitude of Gratitude”

Listen to your Granny. She has your best interests at heart and she’s weird. Please stand by. I have 18 minutes of heaven all whipped up for you. Hot, fresh, free-range organic snark. Just took it out of the oven this morning and the studio smells wonderful. 🎧😎☕️😘
We’ll have that out to your table right away. #GrannyHasAPodcast

Bloom where you’re planted.
And occasionally, transplant yourself.

Tomatillos! Golden Shrimp plant! And coffee. It’s been four years, at least it will be in a couple of weeks, since a dance rehearsal injury in little old New York sent me back to the suburbs of Minneapolis for good. And I may finally be starting to accept that, at least partially. And having this deck, doing the refinishing all myself by hand, growing my container garden every summer… this may be the best part.

A rainy morning a few weeks ago. Don’t get me wrong; HusbandCat & Amy Farah Howler & Domino are who make it home. But for about four months of the year up here, I also have this amazing outdoor living room, where I can surround myself with flowers and leaves and vegetables. The bees and hummingbirds and dragonflies visit. There are good things to eat on the vegetable plants. There is peace.
There is sanctuary.

#SlavaUkraini 🌻💙💛🇺🇦 And then there’s a plane to catch. Because it’s lovely to have a home sweet home and garden, but life requires human connection and a change of scenery. So I am off to another voiceover conference, this time One Voice USA in Dallas-Fort Worth. In the summertime.

#GrannyHasAFan
…because waving a business card around can’t cool you off in Texas in August. So I’m packing fans. Like, 100 of them. Just in case I need to cool any of them thar cowboys ‘n’ cowgirls off! 🤣😉🤠🍻
See y’all on the other side! I’ll be down in the studio if anybody needs me.

Buy your old Granny a coffee, honey?
Hey there, cats and kittens, it’s 11:00am on a Monday and I’ve put away about three cups already. Just wanted to bring this to your attention; turns out, the primary ingredient for good podcasting is Cafe Bustelo! Who knew??

There it is. The primary component of both my podcast and my blood.
In the nice little vacuum-packed bricks.
You can smell it just by looking, can’t you?
I know. I can too.So, if you’re liking what I’m making here and you’d like to help out, please and thank you and Won’t You Buy Me A Coffee? <– Just click that and it’ll take you there. Thanks. You know I’d do the same for you. Stay offa my lawn! 😸

Granny Has a Podcast, Season 1, Episode 12
“MamaCat Gets Back on the Horse What Threw Her and then some other stuff happened”.
Not gonna lie. This one came out really good and it’s a treat to your earbuds. If I’m lying I’m dying. Today’s soup includes travel, home life, appliances, and at least one cat. 😻🎧🎙🎛🎭

MamaCat & the Principles of Soup, Redux.
It’s lentil soup, homemade, with the remaining vegetables from last week’s Imperfect Foods order. Recipe: on the day my new produce arrives, I decide what can be made out of the remaining “old” veggies and any dinner leftovers that may be in the fridge.
You’d be surprised how well that works out, with a little advance planning.

Start with what you have on hand. MamaCat’s First Principle of Soup. -
Dear Everyone, I’ve Been Cheating on You with my Garden. 💚🌻🍅🫑

And I don’t care who knows it! Shown: “Midnight Snack” Cherry Tomatoes.
My Gerbera Daisy is fixin’ to push out a new blossom. Shown: genuine EWR gift shop souvenir mug. Because duh.
When it blooms, the blossoms will be a lovely light purple. And when it fruits, they will be “Patio Baby Hybrid” eggplant. Shown: yes of course I have a witch’s cauldron and you always knew it. Black keeps the roots warm. Eggplant likes that.
That’s purple basil growing next to the purple tomatoes. 💜 Shown: my growing obsession with growing things.
Oxalis: how it started.
Oxalis: how it’s going.
Shade lovers, Fuschia and Coleus.
Just 2 days later, and they’re getting settled in nicely. And a colanchoe’s going in that big vase there. My new job is colanchoe cuttings.
New episode soon to come, “Season 1, Episode 12, In Which MamaCat Gets Back on the Horse What Threw Her” — We’ll process how awesome my trip to New York was.
But I didn’t want you to think I’m just sitting on my MamaCat derriere. I’m busy. 😉💚 -
